Tree Climbers

Ropework, rigging, and the top of the tree.

  • Climbing experience required
  • ISA / TCIA climber credential a plus — not required
  • First aid / CPR a plus — we certify you

About the role

You're the one who goes up. Working from ropes and saddle, you take down and trim the trees a bucket can't reach — tight backyards, big removals, storm-damaged wood across Mid-Michigan.

What you'll do

  • Set climbing lines and rig limbs for controlled lowering
  • Make precision cuts in the canopy and run a saw safely aloft
  • Work rope signals and rigging with the ground crew
  • Inspect your gear before every climb

A typical day

Meet the crew at the Saginaw yard, load out, and run one to three job sites — removals, trims and storm work — then back to the yard.

What we provide

  • Technique coaching, all rigging hardware and PPE
  • Support earning ISA / TCIA and first aid / CPR if you want them

Bucket Operators

Run the bucket, trim and remove from the lift.

  • Valid driver's license required
  • CDL Class B (or willing to get one) a strong plus — our bigger trucks require it
  • Aerial-lift experience a plus — we provide OSHA operator training

About the role

You run the bucket truck — positioning the boom and working from the lift to trim and remove, and driving the rig to and from job sites across Michigan.

What you'll do

  • Operate the aerial lift safely to trim and remove
  • Set up the truck, cones and a safe work zone
  • Drive the rig and keep it clean and maintained
  • Feed the chipper and break down the site with the crew

A typical day

Load out from the yard, drive to residential and commercial jobs, run the bucket, break down the site, and head back.

What we provide

  • OSHA aerial-lift operator training and certification
  • Support getting your CDL Class B if you don't have it yet

Laborers

Ground crew — no experience needed, we'll train you.

About the role

Ground crew — the backbone of every job. No experience needed. If you show up and put in the work, we'll teach you the trade from the ground up.

What you'll do

  • Drag brush and feed the chipper
  • Run ropes on the ground for the climber
  • Rake, clean up sites and load logs and debris
  • Learn to run saws and small equipment over time

A typical day

Meet at the yard, load out, and work outdoor job sites all day in every season — including snow removal through the winter.

What we provide

Equipment Operators

Skid steers, excavators, chippers, loaders.

About the role

You run the iron — skid steers, excavators, chippers and loaders — for land clearing, brush mowing and hauling on commercial, state, federal and residential jobs.

What you'll do

  • Operate heavy equipment safely on clearing and landscape jobs
  • Load and move material, grade and clear lots
  • Run the chipper and haul equipment between sites
  • Daily equipment checks and basic maintenance

A typical day

Load equipment, haul to job sites across Michigan, run the machines, service them at day's end, and return to the yard.

  • Support getting a CDL for hauling if you need one

Do I need a CDL to apply?

No. Most of our roles don't require one. A CDL Class B (plus a DOT medical card) only comes into play for driving our bigger trucks over 26,000 lbs. If you're going for Bucket Operator it's a strong plus — and if you don't have one yet, we'll help you get it.

Do I need a license or certification for tree work?

Michigan has no state license for tree work, so no — you don't need a government license to apply. ISA and TCIA climber certifications are a plus, not a requirement. Running an aerial lift needs OSHA operator training, and we provide that. Come as you are; we train and certify you.

Do you really train people with no experience?

Yes. Laborers start with zero experience and learn the trade on the job from day one. Prove yourself on the ground and there's a real path up to climber, bucket, and equipment roles.

Is this year-round work or seasonal?

Year-round. Tree and land work through the warm months, snow removal all winter. When other outfits lay off their crews, we keep rolling — that's the whole point of running work across every season.

Do I need a resume?

Nope. The application takes about two minutes and no resume is required. If you've got one you can attach it, but it's completely optional — we care more about whether you'll show up and work.
